Join The (Unofficial) Ace Ebb Fan Club Today!

Folks,we all need a hero. For some it is a professional sports figure, a parent, a respected teacher... not us. Our hero is a petless dork from Chicago named 'Ace' Ebb. A guy so obsessed with Nintendo games that he actually forgot his own first name and had to invent one for himself.

Rumors abound about this strange figure from our nostalgic past. We all read about his amazing accomplishments in Nintendo Power's first issue. Some have said that he killed his pets so that he would have more time to play Nintendo. Some say his mysterious Owl Lamp contained magical powers, giving him hand-eye coordination and finger reflexes far greater than that of ordinary mortals. There have been reports of assassination attempts, hollywood debauchery, inbreeding... the list goes on... and the lust... the lust to be as great as him. Ace.

Well, now you can affiliate yourself with this pop icon by joining the Official 'Ace' Ebb Fan Club. Just send me an e-mail with your nickname, website URL if you have one, and a statement saying "I have no pets!" or "My hobbies are playing Nintendo games, period!"

Once you are accepted into this illustrious club, you will have your name printed on this page with me, 'Ace' (honorary member), and the other members of this club, of which there are currently twenty-two (22). You will also be sent a neato-mosquito "Official Member" logo like the one at the bottom of this page, which you can display on your webpage. JOIN NOW!

Inarticulate Stranger Sends Ace Ebb Hate Mail:

apparantly a visitor to the site thought that *I* was Ace Ebb and proceeded to blaspheme all over the place. Click the link to read the offensive e-mail and my equally inarticulate (yet polite) response! (translated from English into Japanese, then back into English once again) then the shit really hits the fan when inarticulate boy's older cousin tries to swoop in and defend the little nino from my poorly translated verbal attack (physical violence is hinted at!!!)

ACE EBB RESEARCH PROJECT
EBB SEARCH RESEARCH ARCHIVE:
The link above is a list of possible leads in the search for the elusive "Ace" Ebb. The goal of the Ace Ebb Research Project is to one day find "Ace" and ask him all the questions whose answers will make our lives complete. Or at least we'll ask him what his real first name is. All we know is that he used to live somewhere near Chicago. He could have moved in the past 13 years, so any of the email addresses, phone numbers, or addresses in this little file could point to Ace! I suggest that everyone should try emailing/calling/writing a letter to at least one of the email adresses/phone numbers/mailing addresses at least once a day. If you have ANY information regarding "Ace" Ebb, please contact Bochuk, the official Ace Ebb Research Expert. We will not rest until we find him.

Ace Ebb Rumors, Blurbs and Sightings:

"I heard somewhere that Ace Ebb is going to join the Video
Wrestling Association (VWA). He's going to team up with the
Giant Panther, and their first match is going to be against
the Amazon, and Kin Corn Karn this Sunday on Pay-Per-View.
Which is a surprise to me because the Amazon doesn't like
teaming up with other people."

- Maniac (from tsr's old board)

"I think that 'Ace' Ebb coming up in seperate video game
conversations, at the same time, 10 years after the fact,
is pretty weird. I wonder if the planets are in a funny
alignment or something. Actually, I'll bet some FuncoLand
somewhere just stocked the shelves, and somehow they've got
like 2 protos and 3 super rares on the same shelf or something,
thus causing the entire NES community to have weird little
things happen. The balance of power in the NES community has
shifted! The end is near!"

- someone at tsr's old board

I know what happened to Ace Ebb.In fact almost everyone here
has seen what has become of him, it's just no one realized it
... until now. You see, since Ace looked so much like a girl
to begin with, and was obviously a raging homosexual (how else
do you explain that shirt?), he went ahead and got a sex
change operation. He then gave up Nintendo and pursued his
dream of singing revolutionary latin music as....
Gloria Estefan! Just look at the amazing resemblance. And I
believe I remember, when I was watching Behind the Music -
Gloria Estefan on VH1, she said that she didn't have any pets!
Amazing.
You may say, "but Deathspork, Gloria Estefan was around before
that photo of Ace Ebb was taken". Let me explain. It's no
secret that Ace Ebb played his fair share of videogames. And
recent studies by our news media show conclusive evidence that
playing any game at all will turn you into a heartless satanic
killer in a matter of minutes (and we all know that the media
is never wrong). What am I saying? I'm saying that beating all
those NES games too fast gave Ace an insatiable hunger to
kill, so he KILLED the real Gloria Estefan and then had a sex
change and took over as her, giving Ace Ebb instant fame and
glory. That would explain the rapid changes in Gloria's music
and style that started a couple years ago.

And there's my Ace Ebb theory.

Wow! 1.5 minutes per star! Amazing!!!

Wait, you must be that Ace Ebb guy I saw in a the player profile section
Nintendo Power back in 1987!!!

[photo of Ace Ebb, arms crossed, fingerless gloves,
head tilted and looking damn cool right into the camera]

You have no pets, you just play Nintendo!!!

hi, I was just wondering if you knew where I might be able to obtain a copy of the Symphony of the Night music CD. I will go to most any lengths to get it, which includes everything from murder, to paying exhorbiorent prices. Preferably neither though....thanks. Brian Slone

You'll go to any lengths to get it? You'll even resort to murder, huh? It just so happens that we have a little hit list here of people who definitely need to be taken out. We'd do it ourselves, but we don't want to get our hands messy. Since you offered to murder somebody for us, might we suggest the following...

Hanson
Stevie A.
That balding guy working at Blockbuster Games
Chris Slate
Whoever drew that box art to "Dungeon Explorer"
The editors of Nintendo Power
Bill Gates
That little freak in the Game Boy commercial
*** Ace Ebb ***
Michael Eisner
That fat loser in the Starburst Fruit Chews ads
The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust

Man, we could just go on and on for days. Seriously though, we rang up quite a few places looking for it ourselves and unfortunately, we weren't able to find it. We did however, manage to find a new CastleVania music CD called Dracula MIDI Collection that contains 11 tracks of original arranged music, 6 tracks of game sound simulation, 2 tracks of piano arranged music, 1 track of Kukeika Club arranged MIDI (We don't know who the hell they are either!), PLUS 21 MIDI files and 4 computer illustrations.

What a deal! You can buy it at Game Music Online which is found in our Shopping Links section of our site. I should also note that Game Music Online had a picture of the Symphony of the Night soundtrack BUT those bastards didn't have the CD for sale. ("Let's have a picture of a CD people want to buy and then not even sell it!") We'll keep up our search and let you and all of our readers know when we uncover the elusive Symphony of the Night soundtrack.

The search for Ace Ebb continues
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was driving through Beantown on August 31st just having read that famous article about Ace Ebb , the boy who went missing . Driving my Saturn on the 401 I spotted a figure in the myst . Riding along the side of the Highway there he was . Ace Ebb . The Ace Ebb . Ofcoarse 24 years of age now , he looked quite a bit different . But when I noticed he was wearing a Power Glove on his right hand I knew it was Ace . Riding his 1988 bicycle He turned his head towards my window and glared his face at me . I turned to my cell phone to make a call to the authoritys regarding this nes social figure . When I turned my head towards the side of the road again , he was gone . I was speechless . All that remained of this NES God , was an advantage joystick with the initials AE on it . What really happened on this day , August 31st of 2000 ?What triggered this occurrence ? Some say it was the ghost of Ace Ebb . Others say it was an idiotic gamer who had no life . Could it have been Ace Ebb ? I think so . Do you ? My plan is to ralley a party of people from this message board to venture down to Boston . WE will send out a search Party with the goal of recovering any clue regarding The Ace Ebb . Are you with me ?

Perhaps like Hamlet you met up with the ghost of Ace Ebb. Did the spectre say anything at all? Surely he was trying to tell you something.

Oh the mystery continues.............

Okay, so what's the whole dealio with Ace Ebb in the NES online scene? I've only been on the online scene for maybe about three or four months (I normally did my NES collecting at stores in Georgia, which are hard to find; I never did have a chance to search as much online on info as I do today), I read the old NP article a while back about Ace Ebb, and I still don't get what the joke is.

The truth behind Ace Ebb
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In 1988 when the NES was in its prime videogaming was THE thing to be doing . Now Ace Ebb lived in Chicago IL and was a fantastic game player . He was like the Tiger Woods of the NES era . His profile was even featured in a Nintendo Power magazine among the top gamers across the USA . In 1988 many groups would stage small nintendo competitions . Ace had won all of them . On a cold October day Ace set out to the last nes competition , but he simply didn't show up . This urban legend has puzzled many gamers across the globe . There was even an article in the Mcleans magazine in 1989 regarding Adrian nicknamed Ace . This is the kind of story that becomes more believable everytime you read it .In the "Runaway train " music video , Ace's picture was shown . Is this story just a rumour ?
