How the NES Single-Handedly saved the 80's

A long time ago........It was a horrible Era for mankind. Reagan ruled supreme and allowed horrors like michael jackson and break dancing to run rampant. Creativity was at an all time low and people sat around all day at bowling ally's *gasp*
People longed for fun as they sat at home watching the dukes of hazard, they needed adventure and excitement. The only adventure in their daily lives was trying to look stupid(the underlying theme of the 80's by the way) Pandora's box had been opened unleashing hoards of evil demons. The demons, lead by bono from u2, spread throughout the land instilling boredom in all the people they came in touch with.
All that remained in pandora's box was a shimmering bit of hope, the nintendo entertainment system. It took people only a moment to realize the significance of the machine that had appeared to them. It rode up on its white horse and trampled all sour feelings left behind by atari. They people had finally found their escape from the neon spandex, frizzy hair (like sappy's lol) and bad episodes of miami vice. Reagans voodoo economics couldn't touch these brave souls as they battled through dungeons and defeated dragonlords. These people found in this small grey box the will to live.
And to this day when I stare at the boxy graphics, and hear the often monotonous music a tear comes to my eye. Even though the nes may be long past its glory days when I look back I will always be thankful to the nes for keeping me alive through my ten year long term in hades(haha hades rhymes with 80's). *at this point the capn runs away crying*
