Super Duper Quiz
Well, here's last month's answers. I hope this will shed some light on what you did wrong/why you didn't bother to answer.
Question 1> Since Rygar is now living on the streets, he has to provide for himself. If hobo Rygar can make a single cigar our of 5 cigar butts, and he has 25 butts, how many cigars can he make? 6
Question 2> Suppose you were ported at the Florida Keys in Pirates!, and your ship had a rope that was dangling over the edge of your boat, a foot from the water. Now assume it's high tide, and the water rises 4 inches every hour. How long would it take for the water to reach the rope? Never. The boat rises.
Question 3> Assume Mario was drinking coffees at his favorite coffee hut. He had 3 cups of coffee (that junky) and 24 sugar cubes. If we wanted to put an odd number of sugar cubes in each cup and use all of the sugar cubes, how could he do so? 1 in 2 of them, 22 in the third. What an odd number indeed
Question 4> Samus Aran is going hunting. She wakes up from camp early one morning, and cooks breakfast. She gets ready and walks half a mile south. At this point, she falls flat on her butt. Cursing, she picks herself up and continues south. Half a mile later, she spots a bear. She whips out her ice beam, but the bear sees her first. The bear runs east at top speed, and she makes chase. Half a mile later, she shoots at the bear, injuring it. The bear trundles east some more. Another half a mile goes by before samus finally catches up with the bear. She shoots and kills it. Pleased with herself, she walks north back to her camp. Unfortunately, another bear had ravaged her camp while she was out. What colour was the bear that destroyed her camp? White
Question 5> Link is chilling out in Zelda's palace when he realizes it's way past his bedtime. He goes up to his room and stands at the doorway. He can see his pile of hay (bed) way on the other side of the room. He blows out the blue candle, then runs into his room and dives into his bed-- before it becomes dark in the room. Assuming that there are no lights in his room (this is before the invention of electricity or even light bulbs!) how could he have accomplished this feat? It was the day
Question 6> Billy and Jimmy Lee are having an argument. They both want to mack Marian. Marian decides that her tail will be up for grabs in a winner-take all horse race. But this race is different than most. The winner is the one who has the slowest horse. But Marian is afraid that the brothers will cheat by racing their horses slower than they can go. So she goes to see the Rygar wise man. In two words, he solves the problem. What does he say? Switch horses
Question 7> Do you know your laws? In Idaho, is it legal for Wart to marry his widow's sister? No. Wart is dead.
Question 8> Suppose Simon Belmont was sitting on the hood of Dracula's car and he was driving at 60 miles per hour. Assume a mack truck was driving towards Dracula at the same speed. Simon sees the mack truck coming towards him when it is 8 miles away, and for some reason decides to run at it. Simon runs at the incredible speed of 120 miles per hour (he's fast and stupid). The instant the reaches the bumper of the mack truck, he turns and runs back towards Dracula at the exact same speed. Assume he continues to run back and forth until he gets squished. How much distance did he travel? 8 miles
